CEO, GENESIS IV, FORMER ACTING SECRETARY OF THE NAVY
B.J. Penn is currently the CEO of Genesis IV. As a career Naval Officer, his experience includes being a tactical jet aviator, assignments in R&D, technical & operational evaluations, logistics, electronic warfare, and countermeasure systems. In March 2005, Mr. Penn was confirmed as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. In April 2009, he was appointed Acting Secretary of the Navy, where he led America’s Navy and Marine Corps.
B.J. Penn was responsible for the health of the US Defense industrial base; DoD’s policies and plans to ensure existing and future industrial capabilities meet the Defense mission.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and his master’s degree from the George Washington University. He has also been awarded certificates in aerospace safety and national security for senior officials from the University of Southern California and Harvard University.
B.J. Penn is chairman of the board of Spectra Systems, a director for the board of American Reality Capitol and the board of National Trust for the Humanities, and a trustee at the George Washington University. In addition to being the CEO of Genesis IV, he is President of Penn Construction Group, an A&E firm.
