VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
NANCY NELSON
Nancy Nelson is Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Lone Star Analysis and has served in this role since 2007. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the finance function for Lone Star including AR/AP, cash management, tax, audit and reporting. She also supports critical interaction with employees, investors and other stakeholders.
At Lone Star, she has developed a deep knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) cost accounting and government contract accounting systems. Prior to joining Lone Star, she was the Controller for FGI and In Your Face Apparel, leading wholesalers in the advertising specialty and apparel industries. In this capacity, she streamlined the accounting department in a period of intensive growth, resulting in better controls and more accurate and timely reporting to management.
She began her professional career with Deloitte in the Dallas audit department. In addition to extensive audit experience with firms in the manufacturing, hospitality and oil and gas industries, Nancy has designed and maintained accounting systems for multiple small companies and non-profit organizations.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Nelson attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Accounting. She was licensed as a CPA in 1987. She and her husband, Ron, have three children.
Nancy is also the owner and Chief Executive of The Tekton Group, a company she and her husband launched in 1999, designing and installing in-building solutions in the wireless communication industry. She was an active member in the home schooling community in North Texas for over 20 years, and has held board positions for two non-profit organizations serving Texas home school families.
